Who wrote the book Tough Love and what did he advocate for a rebellious son?

Dobson is identified as the probable author of Tough Love. He advocated exercising tough love toward a rebellious son: taking firm steps, refusing to keep feeding, paying, or rescuing him from tight places, and dealing with the behavior rather than enabling it.

Les explains from Deuteronomy 21:18 that a man with a stubborn and rebellious son who will not obey his father or mother, even after being chastened, is dealing with someone described as a glutton and drunkard. Les says he thinks it was Dobson, if he is not mistaken, who wrote a book titled Tough Love. Dobson advocated that with this kind of individual, you must take steps and exercise tough love; you cannot just keep feeding him, paying him, and helping him out of tight places. You have to deal with it. Les then notes Israel did far worse than Dobson would have suggested: the men of the city were to stone such a son, putting away evil from among them.
