What was God preparing to do with Israel at Mount Sinai after leading them out of Egypt?
After leading Israel out of Egypt, God gathered them at Mount Sinai and was preparing to bring the nation under the system of Law through Moses and Aaron. The people answered together that they would do all the LORD had spoken, yet people cannot keep the Law.
Les explains that Israel had just been led out of Egypt and was gathered around Mount Sinai. God was preparing, with Moses and Aaron, to bring the nation of Israel under the system of Law. In Exodus 19, all the people answered together, “All that the LORD hath spoken we will do.” Les notes that people cannot keep the Law, and anyone who says they are doing the best they can and keeping the Law puts themselves under the curse.
