How did people from Adam to Abraham enter into a right relationship with God?

From Adam through Abel, Seth, Noah, and up to Abraham, people entered a right relationship with God by faith plus sacrifice, not by faith plus nothing. Sacrifice was required; they could not approach God without it. This contrasts with the Body of Christ, which is saved by faith plus nothing.

Les explains that when you go back to the period from Adam, Abel, Seth, Noah, and on up to Abraham, the way into a right relationship with God was different from the present age. He asks whether it was faith plus nothing and answers no; it was faith plus sacrifice. They could not approach God without sacrifice. By contrast, members of the Body of Christ become members by faith plus nothing, as Abraham also became the friend of God and recipient of righteousness by faith plus nothing.
