What did Abraham do besides believe God to be counted righteous?

According to the passage, Abraham did nothing else. He did not bring a sacrifice, did not keep a set of commandments, and was not baptized in the Jordan River. The only thing cited is that he believed God, and that faith was accounted to him for righteousness.

Les explains that Paul goes back to the Old Testament and picks up Abraham as an illustration of faith in Galatians 3:6. The text says, “Abraham believed God, and it was accounted to him for righteousness.” Les then asks how much else Abraham did and answers, “Nothing.” He did not bring sacrifice, did not keep a set of commandments, and was not baptized in the Jordan River. This illustrates that righteousness came by faith, not by law-keeping, and that the Gospel rests on the death, burial, and resurrection of Christ.
