Les Feldick Bible Study

Why does the Bible repeat the same teachings over and over?

The Bible repeats the same teachings because repetition is the mother of learning. Until believers hear these truths over and over, they do not soak in. Repeating the message reinforces that faith comes by hearing the Word of God, not by the works of the Law.

Les explains that repetition is the mother of learning, and until we hear these things over and over and over, it just doesn't seem to soak in. In Galatians, Paul comes back with verse 3 saying the same thing as verse 1 in a little different wording—calling them foolish again—because the flesh refers to the Law, which was weak and beggarly. Having begun in the Spirit by faith, they are not made perfect by the flesh. Faith is taking God at His Word; hearing involves no work, and by believing we listen to the Word of God.
