What did the Son of God do for me?
The Son of God loved me and gave Himself for me, dying for me. He is faithful and will never let us down. Because of His faithfulness, I can live the life I now live in the flesh, pleasing God and showing that He loved us and gave Himself for us.
Les teaches that when Christ died, we died with Him, yet Christ lives in us and the life we now live in the flesh is lived by the faithfulness of the One who bought us. He is faithful and will never let us down. Paul writes that the Son of God loved me and gave Himself for me. Les contrasts Peter’s statement that they killed the Messiah with Paul’s message that He died for you. God is able to keep and empower us to live a life pleasing to Him, and we show His love by constantly remembering that He gave Himself for us.
I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me.
