Where else does Paul teach the same thing as being dead to the law through the law?

Paul teaches the same thing in Romans 7, where he writes that through the law he died to the law that he might live unto God. The law was perfect but could not give life because man had no power to keep it.

Les explains that Galatians 2:19 echoes Romans 7, where Paul develops the same argument. He says, "Now this is Romans 7 all over again." The law was perfect from God's point of view, but from man's standpoint it was weak and beggarly because man could not keep it. There was no power in the law to help him obey. The law was given on cold stone, showing it was not cuddly or life-giving. Through the law, Paul became dead to the law so that he might live unto God.

Galatians 2:19

For I through the law am dead to the law, that I might live unto God.
