What would have happened to Gentiles if Paul had yielded to the Jerusalem leaders in Galatians 2:5?

Had Paul yielded to the Jerusalem leaders, Gentiles would have remained in paganism, and the truth of the gospel of grace would not have continued with them. His refusal to submit for even an hour preserved the gospel that reaches Gentiles, as Galatians 2:5 states.

Les teaches that this verse directly affects Gentiles. He says that if it were not for this verse, Gentiles would still be out in paganism. Paul stuck to his guns and gave no place by subjection to the Jerusalem leaders for even an hour, so that the truth of the gospel—Paul's gospel, the gospel of grace—might continue with the Gentiles. The "you" in the verse refers to Gentiles. Les notes the Jerusalem leaders seemed to be somewhat because they had been leaders, and the Jewish believers had sold land and houses and other resources and laid the proceeds at the apostles' feet. Even Barnabas sold land on Cyprus and brought the resources to Jerusalem. About twenty-two years after Pentecost, they still thought they were the somewhat, but their power base was slipping away.

Galatians 2:5

To whom we gave place by subjection, no, not for an hour; that the truth of the gospel might continue with you.
