Is false teaching entering a church a new problem?

No. False teaching entering a congregation or denomination is not a new problem. The writers of Scripture were already aware of it, and Jude addresses false brethren who were brought in unawares, showing that such infiltration was already a known issue in the early church.

Les teaches that the false brethren confronting Paul and Barnabas at Jerusalem were 'brought in,' not sneaking in, indicating influential leaders were involved. He notes that the same word appears in Jude, a one-chapter letter just before Revelation. When false teaching slips into a congregation or denomination, it is nothing new; the writers of Scripture were already aware of it, and Jude addresses it in verses 3-4. Thus the problem is ancient, not novel.

Jude 1:3

Beloved, when I gave all diligence to write unto you of the common salvation, it was needful for me to write unto you, and exhort you that ye should earnestly contend for the faith which was once delivered unto the saints.
