Who was Titus in relation to Paul in Galatians 2?

Titus was a Greek Gentile convert of Paul who accompanied Paul and Barnabas to the Jerusalem council. In the passage, Paul cites that Titus, being a Greek, was not compelled to be circumcised, showing circumcision was not required for Gentile believers.

Les explains that Titus was evidently with Paul and Barnabas and was a Greek, a Gentile, one of Paul's converts from his missionary journeys. He notes that Paul presented the Gospel he preached among the Gentiles privately to those of reputation—the Jerusalem leadership including Peter and the eleven. The key point was that Titus, though a Greek, was not compelled to be circumcised. The Jerusalem leaders held them at bay long enough that they did not try to bring Titus under circumcision to be part of the council meeting.
