What did God give to Paul, and what does Paul call these doctrines?
God gave Paul the doctrines of grace, and Paul calls them the Mysteries. These doctrines were not given to Israel through Moses, but to Paul as the Apostle of the Gentiles, who was instructed to carry them far hence to the Gentiles and also to the Jews.
Les explains that just as God gave Moses the Law at Sinai, which only Israel received though it affected the whole human race, so God now, about 1500 years later, deals with a different individual. He gives Paul the doctrines of grace, which are embedded in what Paul always refers to as the Mysteries. Paul is not instructed to take them down to Israel, but to take them far hence to the Gentiles and also the Jews. Les emphasizes that all of God's Word is inspired, but this makes plain that Paul is the Apostle of the Gentiles.
