Who was besieging the Galatian believers and what did they want?

The Judaizers were besieging the Galatian believers. They wanted to bring them back under the Law—circumcision, temple worship, and legalism—turning them from the Gospel of the Grace of Christ to another gospel. Paul marveled that they were so soon removed.

Les teaches that Paul had gotten word that the Galatian believers were being besieged by the Judaizers, who wanted to bring them back under the Law, practice circumcision, practice temple worship, whatever. Les explains Paul was getting to the heart of the matter and marveled that these people, who had turned from idols to the Living God as in Thessalonians, were now not satisfied. They were being hoodwinked to go back under legalism. Paul said he could not comprehend that they were so soon removed from Him who called them—not into the Law of Christ, but into the Grace of Christ. They were moving from the Grace of Christ, or the Gospel of the Grace of Christ, into another Gospel.
