Why was Paul so urgent to get his letter to the Galatian assemblies?

Paul was urgent because the Galatian assemblies were being bombarded by Judaizers urging them to return to the Law. He feared they would abandon grace, so he wrote quickly without a secretary, printing in large letters because of poor eyesight, determined to reach them before it was too late.

Les teaches that Paul was under such duress to get this letter written as quickly as possible that he did not even wait for a secretary to take dictation. Instead, he laboriously printed it in large block letters because of his poor eyesight, driven by the intense need to get the letter up to the Galatian assemblies, who were being bombarded by the Judaizers to come back under the Law. It exercised the apostle to the point where he had to sit down and get this letter to those congregations before it would be too late. Les explains that this little letter is so appropriate today because we are under the same kind of bombardment. Most people want to do something to merit favor with God, but God will have none of it; either you believe He has finished it, or it will profit you nothing. So Galatians contains the constant warning that you are not under Law but under Grace, and not to let anyone pervert the Gospel by adding something to it. Chronologically, Galatians was probably written a couple of years before the Corinthian letters.
