Who were the people Paul wrote the book of Galatians to?

Paul wrote the book of Galatians to the Galatian assemblies in the region of Galatia—the people in the area of his first missionary journey, including cities such as Attica, Pisidia, Lystra, and Derbe. These believers were being pressed by Judaizers to return to the Law.

Les explains that as the Book of Galatians is studied, it is Paul's letter to these people in the very area where he covered his first missionary journey. Paul was a missionary to Attica, Pisidia, Lystra, and Derbe, and after spending time at the eastern end of Galatia, he retraced his steps back to Antioch. This little letter of Galatians is only six chapters long. Paul evidently wrote it under duress and quickly, even printing it in large block letters because of his poor eyesight, due to the intense need to get it up to those Galatian assemblies who were being bombarded by Judaizers to come back under the Law.
