Why was Paul's early preaching that Jesus was the Christ not enough?

Paul's early preaching that Jesus was the Christ was not sufficient because God had further revelations to give him. It was not enough merely to believe Jesus was the Christ, the Son of God; God could not leave him with only that message, so he was prepared to receive the Gospel of Grace.

Les explains that after Paul met the Lord on the road to Damascus, was blinded, and then regained his sight, he went into the synagogue and proclaimed that Jesus was the Christ. But Les points out that this was no longer sufficient. It was not enough to simply believe that Jesus was the Christ, the Son of God, because God had further revelations to give Paul. God could not leave him with only that message. As a result, opposition arose: word came that people, Jews, were ready to put him to death, so he had to flee for his life, being let down over the wall in a basket. Les notes that this life of suffering and fear began right from the beginning in Damascus, and it was all part of getting Paul ready to take the Gospel of Grace.
