Who are Isaac and Jacob identified as in the Jewish heritage?

Isaac and Jacob are identified as covenant men in the Jewish heritage, belonging to the patriarchal line that traces back to Abraham. Scripture calls them the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob, the God of our fathers.

Les explains that in Acts 3:13, Peter, speaking after the healing of the lame man, declares, "The God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, the God of Jacob, the God of our fathers." Les teaches that this heritage was the very engine of everything they were doing, going back to Abraham, the father of the human race, and to the covenant men, Isaac and Jacob. This shows how central the patriarchal line was to Jewish identity.

Acts 3:13

The God of Abraham, and of Isaac, and of Jacob, the God of our fathers, hath glorified his Son Jesus; whom ye delivered up, and denied him in the presence of Pilate, when he was determined to let him go.
