What were the false apostles in 2 Corinthians 11 actually saying?

They used much the same language as Paul, making reference to Christ, His death, burial, resurrection, and the Holy Spirit. Their terminology sounded right, yet it was totally empty of doctrine. This deception fit Satan’s pattern, since he transforms himself into an angel of light and drives his ministers.

Les explains that the false apostles were deceitful workers transforming themselves into the apostles of Christ. They were using much the same language Paul did, making reference to Christ, His death, burial, resurrection, and the Holy Spirit. They used all the seemingly right terminology, but it was totally empty of doctrine. Les connects this to Satan, who is transformed into an angel of light, appearing as the one to be worshipped and listened to, yet still Satan. Therefore it is no great thing if his ministers—Satan’s ministers—do the same.

2 Corinthians 11:13

For such are false apostles, deceitful workers, transforming themselves into the apostles of Christ.
