Who supplied Paul's financial need when he was with the Corinthians?

The brethren who came from Macedonia supplied what was lacking for Paul when he was present with the Corinthians. Macedonia was Northern Greece, a poverty-stricken area, and Paul kept himself from being burdensome to the Corinthians, even though some Corinthians could have afforded to help.

Les explains that Paul told the Corinthians he was chargeable to no man while present with them. The brethren from Macedonia—Northern Greece, which he describes as poverty-stricken—supplied what was lacking to him. Paul says he spared the Corinthians who could have afforded to give, and took support instead from those poor folks up in the mountains. He did this so he would not be burdensome to them, and he says he will keep himself from being a burden. He asks why he condescended to these carnal, fleshly Corinthians, and his answer is, “Because I love you.” Macedonia was Northern Greece; Achaia was the southern half of Greece.

2 Corinthians 11:9

And when I was present with you, and wanted, I was chargeable to no man: for that which was lacking to me the brethren which came from Macedonia supplied: and in all things I have kept myself from being burdensome unto you, and so will I keep myself.
