Why is Paul a good example for Christians to follow?

Paul serves as a good example because Scripture presents him as an ordinary man who experienced hunger, anger, failures, and temptations like other believers, yet he followed Christ and lived to please his Savior, proving such devotion is humanly possible.

Les teaches that Paul is a pattern because he got just as hungry, just as angry at times, and had just as many failures and temptations as we do. That makes him a person believers can follow, since his walk is humanly possible. In Philippians chapter 3, Paul says, “Be followers together of me, and mark them who walk so as you have us for an example.” Les explains that if more believers could walk in the footsteps of this man as he followed Christ, they would do well. Paul’s whole life was to follow and please his Savior; he could say, “For me to die is gain.” Though he walked in the flesh as an ordinary human being, his warfare was spiritual, not material or physical.
