Who were the people who questioned whether Paul was really an apostle?

Certain individuals, probably among his congregations, questioned Paul's apostolic authority. They did not recognize his divine appointment as an apostle of Christ because he could not claim to have walked with Jesus in His earthly ministry. Paul addressed some who thought he walked according to the flesh.

In 2 Corinthians 10, Paul speaks of being bold against some who think of us as if we walked according to the flesh. Les explains that there were people out there, probably among his congregations, who did not recognize his divine appointment as an apostle of Christ, because he couldn't claim to have walked with Jesus in his earthly ministry. Les then reviews Acts chapter 9, the first of three accounts in Acts of Paul's conversion on the road to Damascus. There the Lord tells Ananias to go to Saul of Tarsus, showing the Lord is preparing everything.

2 Corinthians 10:2

But I beseech you, that I may not be bold when I am present with that confidence, wherewith I think to be bold against some, which think of us as if we walked according to the flesh.
