What does the believer hold in both hands in Paul's armor analogy?

In Paul's armor analogy, the believer holds righteousness in both hands. The Roman soldier carried a weapon in his right hand and a shield in his left, but Paul replaces both with righteousness, so the believer has righteousness on the right hand and on the left.

Les explains that Paul frequently used contemporary things to make a point, often the Roman soldier. The Roman soldier in battle carried his weapon in his right hand and his shield in his left—the two items that carried him into battle. Paul makes that same analogy, but instead of a sword and shield, the believer has righteousness in both hands. Les then goes to Romans 3:22, where the righteousness of God, which is by the faith of Jesus Christ, is unto all and upon all who believe. There is no difference between Jew and Gentile, black and white, rich and poor; that righteousness is imputed and covers every believer.
