What does it mean that Paul's love was unfeigned in 2 Corinthians 6:6?

Paul's love was unfeigned, meaning it was genuine and sincere, not a false front or outward veneer. He did not enter pagan cities pretending; he came with a heart full of revelation and knowledge in the power and working of the Holy Spirit.

In the King James text, the next word after love is “unfeigned.” Les explains this by asking whether Paul ever put on a false front or came into a pagan city with a veneer. The answer is no: he came with a heart full of revelation and knowledge, in the power and working of the Holy Spirit. The passage then moves to “by the word of truth,” and Les says the perfect definition of truth is Jesus Christ.
