What has God the Father done for believers according to Colossians 1:13?
Colossians 1:13 states that God the Father has delivered believers from the power of darkness and translated them into the kingdom of His dear Son. This means He rescues them from darkness's authority and places them into Christ's kingdom, making them citizens of heaven.
Les explains that in Colossians 1:12-13, Paul prays for the Gentile believers in Colossae and speaks of God the Father. The Father has made believers meet to be partakers of the inheritance of the saints in light, has delivered them from the power of darkness, and has translated them into the kingdom of His dear Son. Les points out that this kingdom is in heaven, so believers are now citizens of heaven because they are members of the Kingdom of Christ. They remain on earth as ambassadors of their heavenly homeland.
