Who is the justifier in Romans 3:26?

Romans 3:26 identifies Christ Jesus as the justifier. The passage states that He, Christ, is just and absolutely fair, and He is the one who declares believers justified. Through His righteousness, those who believe are made just because of Him, and nothing can be added to this.

Les explains that in Romans 3:24-26, justification is freely by God's grace through the redemption in Christ Jesus. God set forth Christ as a propitiation through faith in His blood. Verse 26 declares Christ's righteousness, showing that He is just and absolutely fair, and He becomes the justifier—the one who precipitates declaring us as justified. We become just because of the justifier of those who believe. Les emphasizes there is nothing else and you cannot add to it.

Romans 3:26

To declare, I say, at this time his righteousness: that he might be just, and the justifier of him which believeth in Jesus.
