What objection do some people make about following Paul instead of Jesus?
Some object that Paul was only a man, so they will not follow what Paul says but only what Jesus said. They restrict themselves to the four Gospels and Christ’s earthly ministry, not recognizing that Paul received his Gospel by revelation from the risen Jesus Christ.
Les explains that he constantly faces this objection in his ministry: people say they will not go by what some man like Paul says, but only by what Jesus said. They therefore keep everything taught and preached in the four Gospels during Christ’s earthly ministry. But that ministry was before His death, burial, and resurrection—it had not happened yet. The Twelve did not even know He was going to die, and after the crucifixion they had no idea He would be raised.
