What did Israel do before they could take the knowledge of God to the Gentiles?

Before Israel could take the knowledge of God to the Gentiles, they rejected everything and crucified their Messiah. God had sent the Messiah with that purpose, but the nation did not fulfill it because they turned against Him instead of carrying Jehovah's knowledge to the pagan Gentiles.

Les explains that after God called Abraham and pulled Israel out of the river of humanity, He gave them covenant promises, the law, the priesthood, and civil law, making them a nation with the very mind of God expressed in their behavior. God then sent the Messiah with the intention that Israel could take the knowledge of Jehovah to the pagan Gentiles. But before they got that far, they rejected everything and crucified their Messiah. As a result, the early chapters of Acts still show Jews under the Law.
