What is the reward for believers in heaven?

Believers receive a reward in heaven above and beyond salvation and the promises, given when their works abide as gold, silver, and precious stones. Scripture says if any man's work abides, he shall receive a reward. Its exact nature is not fully revealed, but it may be places of responsibility in the heavenlies.

Les explains that the believer's reward is above and beyond salvation and the promises. He notes that wood, hay, and stubble will disappear, while gold, silver, and precious stones remain, and from that we receive a reward. He reads the verse, 'If any man's work abide which he hath built thereupon, he shall receive a reward.' Les says many people dislike this concept, but a former pastor of a large Chicago church affirmed that few understand it. Les clarifies that the streets of gold and mansions in glory are not the reward; the reward is something else. He cannot fully define it but suggests it may be places of responsibility in the heavenlies. He also mentions the Hubble Space Telescope finding a massive star, illustrating how mind-boggling the heavenlies are.
