Les Feldick Bible Study

What did Christ do with his own blood in the holy place?

Christ entered the holy place once, not with the blood of goats and calves, but with His own blood. There, in the very presence of God at the mercy seat, He sprinkled and presented His own blood, obtaining eternal redemption for us.

Les explains that the earthly tabernacle built at Sinai was patterned after the very floor plan in glory. The greater, more perfect tabernacle was not made by Jewish craftsmen or touched by human hands; it is not of this building, better translated creation, so it is not on earth but in heaven. Christ did not enter by the blood of goats and calves as Israel's high priest did, but by His own blood. He entered not once a year but once, the key word through Hebrews. He entered once into the holy place—the very presence of God at the mercy seat—and there He sprinkled and presented His own blood, having obtained eternal redemption for us. Les also notes that His blood ran down Golgotha's hill and the old rugged cross.

Hebrews 9:12

Neither by the blood of goats and calves, but by his own blood he entered in once into the holy place, having obtained eternal redemption for us.
