How often did Christ enter the holy place?

Christ entered the holy place once, not repeatedly year after year as Israel’s high priest did. By His own blood He entered once into the very presence of God at the mercy seat, obtaining eternal redemption. The book of Hebrews emphasizes the word “once” to show His sacrifice was sufficient and final.

Les explains that the tabernacle built at Sinai was patterned after the heavenly floor plan, but the greater, more perfect tabernacle was not made by human hands and is not of this creation. He contrasts Israel’s high priest, who entered the holy place once a year with the blood of goats and calves, with Christ, who entered once by His own blood. Les stresses that “once” is the key word throughout Hebrews: Christ entered the holy place once, presenting His own blood at the mercy seat, and obtained eternal redemption for us.

Hebrews 9:12

Neither by the blood of goats and calves, but by his own blood he entered in once into the holy place, having obtained eternal redemption for us.
