What word is missing from the Ten Commandments?
The word love is glaringly absent from the Ten Commandments as God gave them to Moses on the tables of stone. Deuteronomy later tells Israel to love God with all their heart, but the Ten Commandments themselves do not contain the word, because love cannot be forced.
Les teaches that as he read the Ten Commandments, one word was glaringly absent throughout all ten as God gave them to Moses on the tables of stone. That word is love. He notes Deuteronomy 6, where Moses tells Israel the Lord is one God and they are to love Him with all their heart, but you cannot force someone to love you. God knew He could not force love, so the word love is absent. From creation, God made man so that after He extended His love, they would love Him back.
