What did Pharaoh send after Israel when they escaped Egypt?

When Israel escaped Egypt, Pharaoh sent an armed force after them, not a flood of water. This military pursuit foreshadows the Antichrist, who will send an armed force after escaping Jews, but God intervenes as He did at the Red Sea, drowning the Egyptians.

Les explains that when Pharaoh saw Israel escaping, he did not send a flood of water but an armed force. In the same way, the Antichrist, as soon as he gets word that multitudes of Jews are escaping, will send out an armed force—maybe a battalion or regiment—to wipe them out. But God intervenes, even as He did at the Red Sea and drowned all the Egyptians. In the Revelation passage, the earth helps the woman by opening its mouth and swallowing up the flood, or armed force, that the dragon sent by decree to destroy those Jews. Les notes the earth opens a deep crevice and swallows them up just before they catch the rear guard. This is no harder for God than opening the Red Sea. The Jews escape as if on eagle's wings, but they actually walked out of Egypt—no helicopters or planes.
