How do God's covenants with Israel relate to one another?

God's covenants with Israel are many, yet they all boil down under one master covenant: the covenant made with Abraham, repeated to Isaac and Jacob. That foundational covenant promised Israel would become a great nation, dwell in their own land, and one day have God as King and government.

Les explains that God is always bringing up these covenants. There is more than one covenant, but they all boil down to being under the one master covenant God made with Abraham, repeated to Isaac and Jacob. That covenant promised Israel would become a great nation of people, dwell in their own land, and one day God would be their king and government. In Exodus 19:5, the word “if” shows the covenant is conditional; Israel is left with free will even though they are under a sovereign God, and faith and obedience become almost synonymous. Israel is to be aware of this covenant, obedient in preparing for its fulfillment, and used of God as the covenant originally intended. Les also notes God deals with the Jew on two levels: national and personal.
