What exactly must we believe about Christ's resurrection?
We must believe that Christ rose physically, literally, and spiritually from the dead—every way one can think of—and that He is alive evermore. Scripture teaches that if a person cannot believe all of it, they are as lost as if they believed none of it, because the resurrection is fundamental to faith.
Les explains that being dead with Christ means identification with His crucifixion, and believers then believe they shall also live with Him. He stresses that this is why the resurrection is fundamental to our faith. He notes that some people say a Sunday school teacher or preacher could preach Christ’s earthly ministry and crucifixion but had trouble with the resurrection. According to Scripture, if they cannot believe all of it, they are as lost as if they believe none of it. We have to believe Christ rose physically, literally, spiritually, every which way one can think of, and that He is alive evermore. Les also points out that in that He died, He died unto sin once, to rid us of old Adam, and that this once-for-all work satisfies for all eternity.
