Who delivers us from darkness and translates us into the kingdom of His Son according to Colossians 1:13?

According to Colossians 1:13, the Father is the one who delivers believers from the power of darkness and translates them into the kingdom of His dear Son. The grammar in the passage shows 'who' modifies the Father, not the Son; the Son is then identified as the one in whom redemption and forgiveness are found.

Les explains that in Colossians chapter 1, Paul is praying and giving thanks unto the Father. Coming to verse 13, the word 'Who' modifies the word Father, so it is the Father who has delivered us from the power of darkness and translated us into the kingdom of His dear Son. The modification then changes in verse 14: 'in whom' now modifies the Son, and in the Son we have redemption through His blood, even the forgiveness of sins. Les also fits this back with Genesis 1:1 and John 1:1, where the Word was with God and was God, and he notes that the Son is the image, that which can be seen and touched.
