What does God do when someone believes the gospel?

When a person believes the gospel, God literally moves heaven and earth to bring that person to a place of enlightenment. As soon as belief occurs, this book begins to open up and make sense, and the gospel is the means by which that person is saved.

Les explains that 1 Corinthians 15:1-4 is the clearest place in the whole Bible where the gospel is laid out in full—even beyond John 3:16. Paul declares the gospel the Corinthians received and in which they stand. When they believe the gospel, God literally moves heaven and earth to bring that person to enlightenment. Verse 2 says by this gospel we are saved; it is the gospel that saves lost people, whether in Corinth around 50 AD or today. Les also notes the warning to keep it in memory, lest they believed in vain, because God is meticulous and we must not believe the wrong thing.
