Where do most people constantly put themselves spiritually?
Most people constantly place themselves under a legalistic situation, entangled again with the yoke of bondage. They want someone to lay down the law, rather than stand fast in the liberty Christ provides. Scripture calls believers to freedom, but many repeatedly return to self-imposed legalism.
Les explains that in Galatians 5:1 Paul urges believers to stand fast in the liberty wherewith Christ has made us free and not be entangled again with the yoke of bondage. That is exactly where most people constantly put themselves: they want to be under a legalistic situation where someone just lays down the law. Les emphasizes that this is not Christianity. True Christianity is liberty, and liberty is not license. Even the Corinthians in their carnality still enjoyed Christian liberty, yet many so-called Christians today have no concept of it at all.
Stand fast therefore in the liberty wherewith Christ hath made us free, and be not entangled again with the yoke of bondage.
