Why did Les Feldick's ministry set up a tax-deductible organization?
The ministry set up the tax-deductible organization so donors could receive their tax deduction—the only reason for doing it—so God's people could get that kind of break from their taxes. Gifts are still required to keep the television broadcast on the air.
Les explains that he refuses to ask for money and would go off the air before begging for it, yet he must let people know the ministry can stay on the air only because of the gifts of God's people. That is why the ministry set up a tax-deductible organization: so donors can receive their tax deduction and at least get that kind of break from their taxes. He says this was the only reason they did it. Any gift sent to the ministry is tax deductible, and they cannot stay on the air without it. Television time is expensive, and he says he cannot afford it.
