What did Paul order the churches of Galatia and Corinth to do?

Paul ordered the churches of Galatia and Corinth to collect offerings for the poor saints in Jerusalem. He instructed this collection to be taken on the first day of the week, Resurrection Day, not on the seventh-day Sabbath, because that is when believers come together.

Les explains that Paul does not use the word tithe, because that was part of the Law, but that does not mean God does not expect giving. The collection was for the saints, specifically the poor saints in Jerusalem. They had given everything they had, sold their land and houses, and put it into a common kitty in Acts chapter 2 and 3 in light of the Kingdom. But the Kingdom did not come, and they were left needy. God in His providence took care of them through the offerings of Paul’s converts from Gentiledom, brought back to Jerusalem. Paul gave order to the churches of Galatia, and even so for Corinth, to take this collection on the first day of the week, not the seventh-day Sabbath, because it is Resurrection Day.
