How can a person get victory over sin and death?
Victory over sin and death comes only through the Lord Jesus Christ, by virtue of the resurrection power of the Gospel. Religion, good works, and church membership cannot achieve it. Scripture declares, "Thanks be to God, who giveth the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ," and there is no other way.
Les teaches that death is a frightening thing we all hate, and its sting is sin; death and sin are almost synonymous. The strength of sin is the Law, which showed sin for what it really is. But thanks be to God, who gives the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ. There is no other way to gain victory over sin and death. Religion won't do it, good works won't do it, joining a church won't do it. It has to be by virtue of this resurrection power of the Gospel, the hope of the believer.
