What does Revelation 8:2 say the angels were given?

Revelation 8:2 states that seven angels standing before God were given seven trumpets, not the singular trump of God. These are angelic trumpets, plural, blown by angels, distinct from the trumpet reserved for the calling out of the Body of Christ.

Les teaches that Revelation chapter 8, verse 2, shows the seven angels who stood before God were given not the trump of God, singular, but seven trumpets, plural. He emphasizes this is a major point: these are not the trump of God but angelic trumpets. The angels will blow them, and they are seven, not one. Comparing Scripture with Scripture, especially 1 Corinthians 15, Les explains that the seven angelic trumpets can in no way be part of the singular trump of God. God Himself has a trumpet reserved for just one event and that alone—the calling out of the Body of Christ.

Revelation 8:2

And I saw the seven angels which stood before God; and to them were given seven trumpets.
