Where in the Bible do you see first the natural and then the spiritual?
The pattern appears all through Scripture: first the natural, then the spiritual. Paul mentions it in verse 46, and examples include Cain then Abel, Ishmael then Isaac, Esau then Jacob, Saul then David, and finally the Antichrist then the true Christ.
Les explains that this is one of the rules of God in His manifestation with the human race. He points out that all through Scripture you have first the natural, and then the spiritual. He gives examples: first Cain, the natural, then Abel, the spiritual; first Ishmael, then Isaac; first Esau, then Jacob; first King Saul, then King David. He notes it continues to the very end of the Book, when the Antichrist, the man of sin, the natural, appears, and then comes the true Christ, the spiritual. Les says Paul makes mention of this, and it is one of the laws of Scripture: first the natural, and then the spiritual. Then in verse 47, the first man was of the earth, earthy—that was Adam.
