How is Ephesians different from Romans and 1 Corinthians in its teaching about the Body of Christ?

Ephesians takes the teaching about the Body of Christ into a deeper realm, revealing truths that are not found in Romans and 1 Corinthians. It presents prayer requests from Paul that the eyes of understanding be enlightened and that believers know the hope of His calling and the riches of His inheritance in the saints.

Les explains that Ephesians takes us into a deeper realm of our teaching concerning the Body of Christ, containing truths not even found in Romans and 1 Corinthians. In Ephesians 1, Paul prays that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give the Ephesian believers the Spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of Him. He also prays that the eyes of their understanding be enlightened, so they may know the hope of His calling and the riches of the glory of His inheritance in the saints. Les notes this is the opposite of the normal idea that Christ is our inheritance; here it speaks of His inheritance in the saints, which is past human understanding.
