What does it mean that Daniel's words are closed up and sealed till the time of the end?

It means God deliberately kept Daniel’s prophetic truths hidden and sealed, not revealing them until the time of the end, when He is ready for men to begin putting them together. This shows God’s prerogative to hold things secret, as He did with the twelve. Meanwhile, many are purified and tested, but the wicked do wickedly.

Les explains that God has the prerogative to hold things secret, and He did so with Daniel as well as with the twelve, who did not understand the Scriptures that Christ must rise from the dead. Returning to Daniel 12:9, the command to Daniel is, “Go thy way, Daniel, for the words are closed up and sealed till the time of the end.” Les says this means God is not going to reveal these prophetic truths until the end time, when He is ready for men to begin to put it all together. Daniel 12:10 then contrasts the purified, made white, and tried with the wicked who shall do wickedly. Les sees this happening today, noting the breakdown of society, nihilism, and disregard for absolutes.

Daniel 12:9

And he said, Go thy way, Daniel: for the words are closed up and sealed till the time of the end.
