What does Daniel 12:10 say about the purified and the wicked, and is it happening now?

Daniel 12:10 states that many shall be purified, made white, and tried or tested, but the wicked shall do wickedly. The teaching says this is being seen today, evidenced by the breakdown of the family, society's fabric being destroyed, nihilism, and disregard for absolutes.

Les explains Daniel 12:9 first, where Daniel is told the words are closed up and sealed till the time of the end. God will not reveal these prophetic truths until the end time, when men begin putting it together. Then verse 10 contrasts the purified—many shall be purified, made white, and tried or tested—with the wicked, who shall do wickedly. Les says, 'My, we're seeing it today.' He cites a Georgetown University speech that decried society falling apart through the breakdown of the family, though the speaker offered positive signs the pendulum might be returning. Les hopes so, but observes that for the last 20-30 years there has been a complete destruction of society's fabric, absolute nihilism, and disregard for absolutes.

Daniel 12:10

Many shall be purified, and made white, and tried; but the wicked shall do wickedly: and none of the wicked shall understand; but the wise shall understand.
