What did the Lord tell Daniel to do with the book of Daniel in Daniel 12:4?
In Daniel 12:4, the Lord instructed Daniel to shut up the words and seal the book of Daniel until the time of the end. This meant the prophecy was closed to understanding for many scholars and theologians throughout history, but it would be opened at the end time.
Les explains that in Daniel 12:4 the Lord comes right down and deals with Daniel personally, telling him, "but thou, O Daniel, shut up the words, and seal the book, this book of Daniel, even to the time of the end." Les says the book of Daniel is prophecy that was almost gobbledygook to most scholars and theologians through history because it contains so much end-time scenario they could not comprehend. It was a closed book. But Daniel was told it would be opened up at the time of the end, and Les says we are witnessing that today. In verse 5, Les notes the end-time statement that many shall run to and fro and knowledge shall be increased, which he takes to mean not only secular knowledge and the explosion of technology, though that is certainly pertinent to the end time.
But thou, O Daniel, shut up the words, and seal the book, even to the time of the end: many shall run to and fro, and knowledge shall be increased.
