What did Paul's time at Mount Sinai prepare him to do?
Paul's three years at Mount Sinai in Arabia prepared him to take the message of grace to the Gentile world. The Lord took him there, and after that experience he was ready to carry the message of grace to the Gentiles. This period equipped him for that mission.
Les explains that Paul did not confer with flesh and blood, meaning the twelve apostles in Jerusalem. Instead, he went into Arabia, where Mount Sinai is located, and the Lord took him there. Les suggests Paul must have been there three years. From that three-year experience at Mount Sinai in the desert, Paul was ready to take the message of grace to the Gentile world. Later, after three years, he went up to Jerusalem to see Peter. By then he had received revelations and the mysteries were beginning to unfold, so he could share with Peter some of these new revelations, not learn everything Peter knew. Les notes that Peter never did get them all and never could comprehend all these revelations Paul had received.
Neither went I up to Jerusalem to them which were apostles before me; but I went into Arabia, and returned again unto Damascus.
