When did God deliver Saul from the death threats in Damascus?

God delivered Saul only after the death threats became so heavy that he heard warnings from more than one direction. His friends then let him down in a basket in the middle of the night over Damascus’s back wall, away from the main road.

Les explains that God could have appeared to Saul in a vision and told him to leave Damascus, but He did not. Instead, God waited until the death threats became so heavy that Saul heard about them from more than one direction. His friends then had to let him down the wall in a basket in the middle of the night, not on the side where the main road ran but evidently on the back side of Damascus. It was pitch dark, without street lights, and Saul had to find his way knowing people were trying to kill him. That was the way God did it. From Damascus, as Saul later tells us in Galatians chapter 1, he went down to Mount Sinai in Arabia, the same place where God gave the Law to Moses, to receive the doctrines of grace, the Revelation of the Mysteries.
