What does it mean that the wise shall shine as the stars forever in Daniel 12:3?

The wise are believers who trusted what God instructed them to believe, even under the Old Testament economy, since it was based on faith. They shall shine with the brightness of the firmament, and those who turn many to righteousness as the stars forever, because God always rewards righteousness in the believer.

Les teaches that Daniel 12:3 describes believers who have believed what God instructed them to believe, even under the Old Testament economy, because it was based on their faith. They shall shine as the brightness of the firmament, and those who turn many to righteousness shall shine as the stars forever and ever. Les explains that God will always reward righteousness in the believer. In the surrounding context, Daniel writes by inspiration almost as if there is a general resurrection, but comparing Revelation shows that only believing Jews are resurrected first; the lost Jews are resurrected a thousand years later for the Great White Throne, just as in John chapter 5. Daniel is also told to shut up and seal the book until the time of the end, about 2,500 years from approximately 500 B.C., when many shall run to and fro and knowledge shall be increased.

Daniel 12:3

And they that be wise shall shine as the brightness of the firmament; and they that turn many to righteousness as the stars for ever and ever.
