What does the grace of God do according to Titus 2:11?

According to Titus 2:11, the grace of God brings salvation and has appeared to all men. It is a theme that cannot be avoided, because it runs throughout Paul's epistles. This grace is central to Paul's teaching and is not limited to a select group.

Les explains that Titus 2:11 says, "For the grace of God," and repeats that this grace brings us salvation and has appeared to all men. He emphasizes that you cannot run away from it, because everywhere you go in Paul's epistles the grace of God shows up. He also recalls Dr. Nordland, who taught his Iowa congregation for a week from Titus 2:11-15 in bitter cold, speaking slowly but with words like a truckload; much of what Les teaches he remembers from that week. This grace is set against the world's argument to live it up because death ends everything, but believers have hope and are not miserable.
