Could Israel have been born as a nation at Christ's first coming?

According to the context, Israel could have experienced a national spiritual birth at Christ's first coming. He presented Himself as the King of Israel and performed signs to prove who He was, but Israel rejected that opportunity, so that birth did not occur then.

Les teaches that there is coming a day when the nation of Israel will be born all at once, in a day. He maintains that they could have experienced that national spiritual birth at the time of Christ's first coming. That is what He presented Himself as—the King of Israel—and He performed all those signs to prove who He was. But Israel rejected it. Les also uses the illustration of a rancher watching a due date to explain Paul's phrase 'born out of due time,' showing that God's timing is precise and that Paul experienced resurrection power as a Jew born before the due date.
